Paragliding World Cup China, Linzhou, 2025 weather forecast Tuesday June 10th
Summary for Tuesday
Wind direction changes on the ground from the NW to the East.
Barometric pressure increases by 1mb comparing to the previous day.
Temperatures
Min T=20, Max T-31, creating a DT = 11 C assuming significant instability if the sun energy reaches the ground.
Sun energy increases from 200 to 350 W/m2 comparing to yesterday, creating conditions for thermals and a local east valley breeze up to 1800m. Above this altitude there will be west winds.
Temperature contrast will not be high on the ground, and possibly thermals will not be strong close to the ground, esppecially below 900m (450 AGL) where there will be a low inversion level.
Humidity is expected at 30% calculating a Dewpoint of 11,4C at 15.00h.
Cloudbase is expected at 3.000m, however, the higher inversion of 1800 will not leave thermals to climb above this altitude, as the strong west winds will break the stronger thermals.
Cloud coverage is expected around 55% as a high layer cloud will set limits to visibility at 5-6 Km in the area limiting thermal activity. This means that more time will be needed for thermal cycles.
Thermals are expected 2,5m/s above 500m, 3,3m/s >1000m, 3,8m/s > 1300m, 4,2m/s>1500. with an average climb of 2,5 m/s, however it may be tricky as hot climbing air parcels may not be very well organized and there are some gaps between them.
Top of Climb at 1800m early, and later at 2100m (15.00h)
In the west side of the take off ridge the conditions will be better, with more organized thermals climbing up to 2.400m.
Wind Gusts expected at 25kph
0m East 18kph
600m East 18kph
1200m East 22kph
1800m East 21kph
2400m West 22kph
